Talk Howdy is a platform where users can connect with like-minded people through interest based communities. Think of it like the clubs and social groups you were a part of in school, but here on the Talk Howdy, for people of all ages.
The platform is peer-led—meaning you have the freedom to facilitate the communities, connections and conversations. But we also want to make sure Talk Howdy stays the inclusive, accessible space we created it to be.
With that in mind, here are our Talk Howdy house rules, guided by our values.
Respect other users’ beliefs, backgrounds and identities. Don’t use inappropriate or sexual language or behaviors. No harassing, bullying, threatening, shaming or hate messaging allowed. In other words, be a decent human. Essentially, no a**holes allowed. 🤠
While we’re flattered you love our communities, this isn’t the place for impersonal messages or a space to provide unsolicited promotions of your product or service. If you’re interested in connecting with our community as a business, we have a separate avenue created that respects the integrity of the platform. You can reach out to us at [email protected].
If you signed up for a community based on founding startups, keep the conversation within that realm. We have other communities specifically for the topics of politics and religion, so please leave these sorts of things to their proper spaces. Also - during a meetup, you might find that you and another community member have other common interests. Please remember that there are others in the meetup, too. Respect everyone’s time by staying on topic, and connect with that other member outside of the group meetup.
This one is simple and easy: posting or engaging in any illegal activity on Talk Howdy will result in you getting the boot. Hate speech and shady business will not be tolerated.
This space was created to build genuine, human connections through community. So we ask that you show up as your whole self—not as your highlight reel self. When communities show up authentically, they encourage others to show up authentically, too.
Creating fake profiles to spam people isn’t cool. We have a zero-tolerance policy against troll accounts.
